The Central has the most girls cricket playing school and the competition is fierce. The qualifiers in the central region attracted 6 schools with former cricket power house Kololo SSS missing out on the four slots available.

The qualifiers had Kololo SSS, Mukono Parents, Kings College Budo, Ndejje SSS, Gayaza High School and eventual winners St Johns High. St Johns High school recruited massively from both Mukono Parents and Kololo SSS with Esther Kayaga from Mukono Parents and Hope Wanichan making the difference for St John High.

The new comers won all their qualification games with former champions Gayaza High School finishing second and Ndejje SSS coming third. Buddo were able to claim the 4th position even though they did not win a single game. They benefited from walk overs when both Mukono Parents and Kololo SSS failed to show up.

Ndejje SSS have experience from the second division of the ladies league and can compete but Gayaza High School and St John High are the power houses coming from Kampala.

Hope Wanichan and Esther Kayaga both who feature for Wanderers in the top flight of the ladies league will be key players for St John as they try and stop Jinja SSS from winning a 7th title.

St Johns High should make the semi finals with Masaka SSS, Olila High School and favorites Jinja SSS. However, given the knock out nature of the competition Gayaza High School can suprise anyone.
