Premier travelled to Jinja looking for two wins. Having lost 3 out 4, they badly needed to snatch all points from both Jinja SS and JACC. Both wins get them close to knockout stage in the Unimoni T20 cup and they expected to have two tight games because both opponents were playing on home turf.

Morning.

Premier Vs JACC.

Results Summary

Premier 112/10 in 19.4 overs beat JACC 63/10 in 12.5 overs by 59 runs

Having won the toss, premier chose to bat. The aim was to pile as many runs as possible. This was not the case, JACC was a much tougher side to take on. Ronald Wakamara (4/8 in 4 overs), Iguru D (3/15 in 4 overs) were the obstacles to progress for premier. They dismissed their crucial top order forcing Premier to revise their setting target. The situation called for closing shop and resettling for playing out the overs. Innings from Rajesh Nair 30(17) and Krunal Prajapati 28(23) helped Premier set 112 all out in 19.4 overs.

The chase begun right away and to JACC’s surprise, their bowlers weren’t the only ones switched on for the day. Having batted long for his side in the first innings, Krunal Prajapati knew the right spots to hit. He walked home with both Man of match award and the match ball backed up with figures of 5/4 in 4 overs. Eric Mwesigwa 35(38) was the sole witness on the crease as he saw his team mates come and go with intervals of minutes. JACC collapsed all out for 63 in 10 overs. They lost by 59 runs.

Afternoon.

Premier CC VS Jinja SS

Results Summary

Premier CC 146/6 in 20 Overs beat Jinja SS 107/8 in 20 overs by 39 runs

Premier walked into the afternoon game with both confidence and wicket experience from the morning game. Having won the toss, they chose to have another go at setting the score. They set 146/6 in 20 overs. This was proof that they learn their lesson and did their corrections. With back up from Rishi H (35), Rajesh Nair (39) did hold his side once again. He did rotate the strike as much as he could. Despite efforts from Bwire Derrick (3/12), Premier were determined to reach a higher and safer score for them to defend.

It was a combined bowling effort to ensure Jinja ss doesn’t reach the target. Jinja collapsed for 107/8 in 20 overs. Premier Talisman Krunal Prajapati 2/18 in 4 overs did break through the top order while Nagas A 2/22 in 4 overs did dismiss the middle order. Suleiman A 28(29) who did put up resistance was out of solid batting partners. This did see Jinja go down the path of defeat with nothing left in their arsenal to revive them.

Both wins for Premier do give a fighting chance to make it to the knock out stages. As the table stands, Premier is number three and Jinja SS get knocked down to number five. JACC stays put at number seven
