Match Summary

Tornado Bee CC 177/5 in 20 overs (Deus Muhumuza 45 off 38, Mitch Horrocks 23 off 30, Francis Otieno 3/19) beat Premier CC 149/10 in 19.2 overs (Ronald Opio 39 off 27, Rajesh Nair 36 off 24, Yasir Malik 2/22) by 28 runs.

Player of the match: Francis Otieno (Tornado Bee)

The Tornado Bees, came guns blazing after their last one-day game fixture against Aziz Damani. The Bees faced the youthful Premier CC at the King's College Budo oval winning their first game of the Unimoni National T20 cup. This comes after a series of late upsets in the last tournament that saw them finish in the less desirable sixth position, but the tide seems to be turning in the faster paced format.

Premier CC won the toss opting to field, but that marked the end of any major victory that day. The team went on to restrict the Bees for a polite 177 runs after 20 overs, picking only half their wickets, with Yasir Malik bagging two of those. Deus Muhumuza (45) and Mitch Horrocks (23) led the pack for Tornado Bees, before three more batsmen concluded the rather short innings.

Tornado Bee set out to defend their score, sending in Cricket Cranes' skipper Roger Mukasa (3/22) and man of the match Francis Otieno (3/19) who quickly destabilized the Premier batsmen within eight overs. And despite the effort, the last over saw the lads all out with four balls to spare, handing Premier their second loss of the tournament.
