Aziz Damani remains unbeaten after two commanding victories against second-placed Wanderers at the Lugogo Cricket Oval. Aziz Damani made sure of the morning result through some skillful bowling and tight fielding to make sure Wanderers never got close to their total. Aziz Damani read the script better by ensuring they dry up the runs in the opening overs, Wanderers had only 6 runs in 6 overs and by the time their key player Rita Musamali came out to bat the asking rate had climbed. Aziz Damani added the returning Gertrude Chandiru to their squad and she delivered some nasty blows at the back of the Damani innings. There was a moment of a scare when Rita Nyagendo got a cut just above her eye from a delivery that connected off her bat but she got attention and came back to bat later.
In the afternoon match, a strong start led by Kenyan Captain Margaret Ngoche (62) and Gloria Obukor (25) helped Damani put on a big total of 123. Elite League MVP Mildred Anyingo with a great spell of 5/15 in her four overs. The experienced Franklin Najjumba (34) tried to hold the chase together but failed to find able partners with Wanderers missing out by 50 runs. Damani too strong in both games with the wins ensuring that they stay on course to defend their T20 crown.
In Entebbe, Soroti Challengers got off the mark in the league winning both their games keeping Tornado Bee waiting for their 1st win of the season. Kevin Awino (57) and Naomi Kayondo (48) were in form with the bat in the second game as Soroti Challengers made sure of the result. The experienced put together a partnership of 86 runs as they wore down the Tornado Bee players in the afternoon heat. Soroti Challengers getting off the mark as they push to challenge Damani for the title.
