The African Champions had no time to rest after arriving on Saturday morning in Harare Zimbabwe. They took on Namibia in the morning and faced fellow East Africans Tanzania in the afternoon.

In the first game Uganda scored 106/9 in 20 overs with MVP Gertrude Candiru top scoring with a brisky 30 supported by Rachel Ntono (20) and Mary Nalule (18).

Namibia ran out of overs in the chase finishing on 79/9 with cricket week winner Immaculate Nakisuyi of Jinja SSS the pick of the bowlers with 3/18, here school mate Stephanie Nampiina (2/11) and Vice Captain Janet Mbabazi (2/11) gave her support. The lady Cricket Cranes were able to wrap up a 27 run win against the desert nation.

In the game against Tanzania set 103/8 in 20 overs with Carol Namugenyi the pick of the bowlers with 2/13 and supported by Janet Mbabazi (1/14) and Franklyn Najjumba (1/9).

However, Uganda failed to keep with the rate after some disciplined bowling by the Tanzanians, Immaculate Nakisuyi (20), Prico Nakitende (19) and Kevin Awino (15) stood out with the bat with the lady cricket cranes crumbling to 82 all out in 17.3 overs. The African Champions suffering a 21 run loss to their fellow East Africans.

The ladies will have a break tomorrow as they take break before taking on host Zimbabwe. The ladies are preparing for the Global Qualifier due in Netherlands this year.
