Man of Match - Irfan Afridi

The duel between KICC and Premier at the lakeside oval was expected to be a battle for survival but instead ended up being a one sided affair as KICC put in a star studded performance.

Irfan Afridi saved his best performance for the season in a game his side needed to make sure they survive the drop, he was key with both bat and ball scoring a half century in the morning and ensuring the points in the afternoon picking up eight wickets.

KICC won the toss and chose to bat 1st and after being promoted up the order Afridi “LALA” came in to bat at number 3 and with his “boom boom” style of batting, he managed to give KICC the momentum they needed with a tactical half ton that included some big maximums.

Falak Sher, Wasim Butt and Davis Karashani also made significant contributions with the bat as KICC posted a commanding 252 all out.

The only reward for Premier in the field was the 5 wicket haul picked by youngster Opio Ronald but wasnt enough to stop Premier from scoring 252. Opio's five wicket haul went in vain just like Rajesh Nair's gritty half ton which contributed 74% of Premier's total team score with none of the other batsmen scoring more than 10 runs.

With a few games left to the close of the season the Div 1 season is more or else wrapped up with Aziz Damani champions already and the relegation of Premier and Ceylon Lions sealed last weekend.
