The lake side oval will be the octagon as KICC and Premier CC battle for precious winning points that could define either teams season fortunes. KICC lie dangerously close to the drop zone just a point ahead of Ceylon Lions who are 7th on the table while Premier who are bottom of the table with all options exhausted might want to crash KICC's party.
Premier CC has unfortunately not had the best of the season, and except for a high scoring encounter against Strikers where they chased a record 300+ runs at Lugogo, they have conceded a number of losses that has not reflected well on the league table.
Their latest match against the Tornado Bees, had them exhibit impressive batting from the likes of Ronald Opio who contributed 63 of the 103 runs they put up in their chase against a tough bowling line up. The team will be relying on him to push above and beyond this time round even as he faces just as tough, if not tougher resistance in KICC’s Davis Karashani, and his lads.
With their last encounter against the Ceylon Lions, KICC did not come out the happier side despite good display that saw only one of their batsmen go past the half ton mark. Daniel Ruyange, Frank Nsubuga, Karashani and Mohammed Irfan will be key to ensure a much needed victory in this next game.
Both teams will be looking for a win in this encounter, a win that has been long in coming for some more than others. It will be up to them to nip any Achilles’ heels that have failed them in the past from early wickets to dropped catches that could cost them. The match at Entebbe will be one of redemption and only the better prepared side will come out smiling at the end of the second innings.
