Challengers CC 125/10 in 32.5 overs Arthur Kyobe 52(41) lost to Aziz Damani 126/5 in 24.2 overs Saudi Islam 50(59), Emmanuel Hasahya 29(41) by 5 wickets

Man of match: David Wabwire 5/48 in 8 overs, 11(21)

In a heavily anticipated contest between two former league champions, Aziz Damani came out on top as Challengers failed to mount up a challenge, forgive the pun.

Challengers won the toss and opted to bat and did not bother the score board as much. Arthur Kyobe 52(41) single handedly tried to take on the Damani bowlers and was impressive but not for long. What was not impressive however was how easily the wickets fell on the other side. One after the other, Kyobe haplessly watched them fall like the leaves of a dying fruit tree. Henry Ssenyondo 4/14 returned to haunt his former teammates and ensure he had the last laugh on the day.

Chasing down the Challengers’ score proved to be a hill climb for Damani as they lost 5 wickets in that chase. David Wabwire 5/48 kept applying the brakes at intervals but to no avail. Damani stood their ground despite the constant barrage from Wabwire. Contributions from Saud Islam 50(59) and Emmanuel Hasahya 29(41) were enough to see Damani through, and with contributions from the rest of the team, they were able to overcome Challengers.
