Wanderers VS Budo

Venue: Jinja Oval

10:30am

The answer to this question should be a very certain and confident yes, especially after you take a look at the Wanderers’ lineup. Upon just a mere glance, you will see quality, player after player, a fair mix and mash of all-rounders, seasoned batsmen and vicious bowlers. But what you won’t see is their crescent fallen heads and pricked egos, after losing to newly promoted Avengers.

This Sunday, Wanderers take on another newly promoted side, Kings College Budo. Wanderers will want to quickly forget the unforgiveable fielding display in their most recent loss. Their batsmen will look to make a return to the batting scene after leaving the run scoring burden to Skipper Denis Musali.

While Wanderers has the bigger point to prove, KC Budo must also prove that they are not destined dwellers of Div 3. As such their mission will be to bowl in the right areas and stay at the crease longer. Ultimately to try and escape the bite of a wounded Wanderers. In fact, Captain Abu Mayanja should accidentally run into the Avengers’ captain and get the latest edition of “How to beat Wanderers.”

If Wanderers can’t win for themselves, it’s the hope of this writer that they can win for their Coach Sam Walusimbi and give him one less thing to frown upon.

It can be said the game should done by lunch time, but Wanderers has a flair for drama and has been known to make mountains out of mole hills, often managing to make simple games come off as life or death encounters.
