Some people are born champions and never want to settle for second best. Seasoned journey-man professional Charles Waiswa is one of that kind.
With a career at the big stage spanning at least 15 years, the left-arm seamer and useful late-order lusty hitting batsman is every inch a useful asset to any cricket club set-up.

Having camped at erstwhile champions Tornado B for the last four years, Waiswa is reportedly to have bid farewell to the club before the Cricket Cranes Tour of Asia last month.

“After our Twenty20 campaign, Waiswa told the dressing room that he had enjoyed the fruitful years at the club and was moving on to another side,” a source that preferred anonymity as he is not the club’s official spokesman told Cricket Uganda.

“He wished us many more successful years in the future and said he will continue to support us in whichever way he can from the sidelines. His seniority and leadership skills both on and off the oval will be missed.”

After a handful of years dominating the topflight, Tornado Bee suffered a dip in form and many a time their dressing room suffered in-house strife last season as Aziz Damani emerged as a super power – a notion that cannot be neglected as a reason at why some of captain Jeremy Kibuukamusoke’s players are moving on to other clubs.

The 30-year-old Waiswa also plays for Stray Lions in the Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) organised tournaments in Kenya.
