Weekend Of June 21–22, 2025
THE BUILD-UP!
With just a handful of matchdays left in the 2025 UCA National Men’s 50 Over League, the heat is officially on. Playoff places are still up for grabs in both divisions, while at the bottom, survival instincts are kicking in. Matchday 12 brings mouthwatering rematches, top-of-the-table tensions, and desperate bids for resurgence. The stakes have never been higher.
SUNDAY – JUNE 22, 2025 – DIVISION ONE FIXTURES
Kutchi Tigers vs Avengers – Lugogo Cricket Oval – 10am
Redemption or Repeat?
Their first-round clash at Entebbe was a wild rollercoaster—Kutchi Tigers folded for just 66, only for Avengers to collapse to 56 in reply, thanks to a spellbinding five-for from Ghanshyam Ashani.
Now the Tigers are roaring again - second on the table and fresh off a 103-run thumping of Rounders. Avengers, meanwhile, languish in seventh and are smarting after a 75-run defeat to Ceylon Lions.
Can the Avengers draw strength from their past miracle - or will the Tigers prove that lightning doesn’t strike twice?

Tornado Bee vs Rounders – Entebbe Cricket Oval – 10am
Darkhorses Collide at the Lakeside
Tornado Bee, sitting fifth, are back in the hunt after chasing down 256 against Wanderers - thanks to an electric century (111) from Anas Baig.
Rounders, with just two wins from seven outings, are hanging by a thread despite bolstering with Rwandan imports Hamza Khan and Oscar Manishimwe. But with former Cricket Cranes captain Brian Masaba returning from international coaching duties at the Kwibuka, hope is alive.
Do Rounders finally turn their pain into points, or will Tornado Bee sting once again?
Ceylon Lions vs JACC – Jinja SS Oval – 10am
Top-Tier Tug-of-War in Jinja
This clash of titans will have eyes glued. League leaders Ceylon Lions (13 points) travel to face third-placed Jinja Association of Cricket Clubs (JACC) in a fierce rematch.
Their earlier face-off was a gritty affair—Ceylon defended 141 as JACC’s chase fell apart under the pressure of spin duo Frank Nsubuga and Juma Miyaji.
JACC were handed a walkover win last weekend, while Ceylon handled Avengers clinically. With playoff positions tightening, expect a calculated, high-stakes battle in the east.
Wanderers vs Aboojo – Serenity Oval, Kamengo – 10am
Crossroads Clash in Kamengo
It’s a must-win for both. Sixth-placed Wanderers, with just two wins all season (both against Rounders), squandered a 256-run total against Tornado Bee.
Aboojo, fourth, missed action last weekend due to a forfeit.
Last season, this fixture delivered fireworks - Aboojo won by 2 runs via DLS in a rain-curtailed epic. Expect a gritty fight as both sides battle to stay relevant in the playoff race.
SATURDAY – JUNE 21, 2025 – DIVISION TWO FIXTURE
Soroti City vs Entale – Lugogo Cricket Oval – 10am
Perfect Run vs Desperate Rebuild
Unbeaten Group A leaders Soroti City (3 wins from 3) meet a shaky Entale side still reeling from a forfeit last weekend.
Soroti turned over Patidar in a 40-run win in their last outing and are building serious momentum. Entale must regroup and show intent to avoid fading from contention.
First meetings always bring mystery—can Soroti stay perfect, or will Entale punch above their weight?

SUNDAY – JUNE 22, 2025 – DIVISION TWO FIXTURES
Tornado vs Mukono Warriors – Florida Oval – 10am
Bottom Feeder vs Mid-Table Grit
Tornado (bottom of Group B) and Mukono Warriors (4th) face off in a match that could shift Group B’s balance.
Mukono were humbled by GM Sugar (lost by 118 runs), while Tornado are licking wounds after losing by 83 runs to Ismaili Community.
Both seek redemption - Mukono to keep pace, Tornado to avoid the wooden spoon. This could be a real slugfest between two sides that will fancy their chances against each other.
Premier vs SKLPS – GM Sugar Oval, Njeru – 10am
Playoff Pulse Check – Different Odds
This first-time meeting in Group B pits mid-table hopefuls Premier CC against SKLPS in a tight race for top-two spots.
Premier (0 points from 4 fixtures) have had a start to the campaign that they will want to forget as they’re in urgent need of consistency. SKLPS, meanwhile, already occupying a mid-table spot, are known for their all-round grit and come in after a morale-boosting win.
A must-win to stay alive in the promotion chase.
FINAL WORD
As Matchday 12 unfolds, every match is a story. Ceylon Lions face their sternest test, Kutchi Tigers chase consistency, and Avengers cling to fading hopes. In Division Two, Soroti look unstoppable while the rest fight to keep dreams alive. The playoff picture is getting sharper—who rises, who falls, and who surprises? This weekend, we find out.
